Look for the following:
Where is your headcount concentrated? Where are workers doing menial work more fit for a robot?
Which processes are prone to human error, and where are those mistakes costly?
What are your bottlenecks? Where would speed be a big win?
To ensure success and enable cost transparency, you must clearly define the use case in rules and examples:
Do you have a SOP or training manual? Could you walk through the process over a screenshare? Would it be possible for you to produce a process handbook with screenshots
such that a smart intern could carry it out?Could you find representative input/output examples to be used for acceptance criteria?
